Relay For Life | La Puente

My family has a long history with cancer. My mom has been fighting cancer for over 15 years. She is a survivor that continues to show us the path of determination, no fear and the will to live.

I once asked her how she felt to have beaten the odds and continue to live the life as a survivor. She replied by saying that from the day they told her she had 6 months to live, she no longer took life for granted. If you ever have the pleasure of meeting her, you will see that she lives life to the fullest with the will to move mountains and the compassion to heal all wounds.

That is why I jumped at the chance to document this years Relay for Life in our hometown of La Puente. It was not only a pleasure, deeply inspiring to see all the survivors.

Vanessa's Maternity | Urban Mama {Month 2}

We are told, "You guys are brave," by some people and others think we are nuts. What am I talking about, well... WE ARE EXPECTING!!

I'm on cloud nine because our two girls are amazing and make me smile everyday, so I am in love with the idea of more children, though this one will be our last. The crazy thing is that with three kids we beat the national average or 2.5 kids. yeah Baby! We are extremely happy and can't wait to get to meet the next member of our family.

We usually do the typical maternity shots to memorialize each month, but this time around we are doing things differently. This time around we will be shooting each month at a different location, each with a unique look. Some will be at the beach, others in downtown and hopefully (if vanessa is game) we'll do one on the subway. I will post each month and would love your feedback.

This series is of our first session {month 2}.
